Things You Don’t Know About the Morton’s Toe #1

The Morton’s Toe  is a new medicial concept to many people. Here  is #I of a sersis of things people are surprise to learn about it.

The Morton’s Toe  is not really a toe problem but a problem of the first metatarsal bone. This is the bone that attaches to the great toe.  You can have a Morton’s Toe  if  the first metatarsal bone is abnormally short  as compared  to the second metatarsal bone or if it has to much motion  and moves around to much. This is called hypermobility  of the first metatarsal bone and is a very common cause of having bunions.

Are You Kidding, about the Morton’s Toe

Last night I was at a book signing at the Book a Millions store in Panama City Florida. The signing was for my new book”Why You Really Hurt: It All Starts In The Foot“. I spoke to several dozen people and many of them had the same disbelief that I get on a regular basis when I talk about the Morton’s Toe.  It is hard for some people to believe that their life long arthritis, back pain, hip pain or leg cramps was caused by one bone in their feet. Yep, I get that alot.  Many years ago the taught about the Morton’s Toe in med school but now it fell off of the radar. It is ashame because it is easy to treat and can help alot of people feel better quickly and easily. If you have any questions blog me

CAN A MORTON’S TOE, MAKE YOUR TEETH HURT ??

Temporomandibular Joint Pain    (TMJ) is a very painful muscular condition affecting the jaw and surrounding parts of the mouth including the teeth.  Morton’s Toe is a condition of the first metatarsal bone of the foot, that can cause Temporomandibular Joint Pain to occur, hence making your teeth to hurt.  This sounds crazy, but the famous physician Dr. Janet Travell wrote about how a Morton’s Toe can cause teeth pain in her famous book Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Trigger Point Therapy.
