Are your Peripheral or Diabetic Neuropathies being misdiagnosised?
Every year thousands of people who have burning feet are diagnosed, by their physicians, with Peripheral Neuropathies as the cause of their burning feet. If they also have Diabetsis, it is a better bet that these people will be told that the reason for their burning feet is the Diabetsis and they have a condition known as Diabetic Neuropathies. Both of these conditions are related to each other and are changes in the nerves in the feet and legs.
Many of them are prescribed powerful drugs such as Lyrica, Neurontin, or Cymbalta to treat these neuropathies. I absolutely feel that in many cases (when these drugs do not work) these patients are being misdiagnosed and are taking these drugs unnecessarily. Often many of these people do not have neuropathies, (either peripheral or diabetic) but just have a very common foot problem known as the Morton’s Toe (Long Second Toe), which can also cause burning feet. But, Morton’s Toe can easily be treated for $2-3.00. without any drugs.
The problem is the average physician has not been trained about the Morton’s Toe and many of them just assume that their patient’s burning feet is due to serious neuropathies and not the very common and easily treatable Morton’s Toe. As you will see in about ten seconds, the Morton’s Toe is a well-established medical condition that just has been forgotten about and the modern doctor is not trained to think about.
I am not telling you that your physician is wrong when it come to Peripheral or diabetic Neuropathies. What I am saying is that if you have been treated for several months for it, either with or without drugs, and you are not getting any better, it is time to start thinking that the reason for your burning feet is your feet, and not a complicated neurological problem like peripheral or diabetic neuropathies. For starter take your shoes off and see if you have a Long Second Toe which is associated with the Morton’s Toe. Then read everything you can about the Morton’s Toe
